ANTAR MAUNA · INNER SILENCE

Not meditation necessarily, and not requiring any belief: simply a defended period in which nothing arrives. Silence is not the absence of sound but the presence of a self that is not currently being addressed. Everything else in this list becomes easier once it exists, and almost impossible without it.

The practice

The first fifteen minutes after waking, without a screen. Begin at five if fifteen is too many.

A question to carry

When was I last alone with my own mind, uninterrupted, for an hour?
